Halloween Hijinks
The final part of Origins of Ghost Master, all episodes of Dracula: Doomed Voyage on Richcast, and Border Bots is on its way
We’re coming to the end of the twentieth anniversary year of what is easily my most-beloved game design, Ghost Master, and for Halloween we have Origins of Ghost Master, Part 3 , the final part of the series celebrating the game’s ‘China Anniversary’! (Although if you’re a fan of the game, you probably knew all about this, as it was all over the Ghost Master channel in the ihobo games Discord.)
Dracula: Doomed Voyage - All Episodes for free!
Meanwhile, over on the narrative creation kit RichCast, you can now play all five episodes of our haunting Bram Stoker adaptation, Dracula: Doomed Voyage for free! You can download the app for PC, Android, or iOS from the RichCast site, then you can find Dracula among the highest rated experiences on the app. Adapted from Chapter VIII of Bram Stoker’s classic vampire novel, this tells the story of the doomed ship Demeter that unbeknownst to its crew is carrying Count Dracula to the British Isles…
You can see this, and other RichCast experiences, in this Halloween trailer!
If you’re a fan of adventure games, I heartily recommend you give Dracula: Doomed Voyage a try! You can play all five parts in any order you like, and it features a wonderful old school ‘enter the code’ mechanic to unlock your progress between episodes.
Border Bots
Although it hasn’t been released yet, if you’re a VR head, you should keep an eye on the game we made with our friends at Team17 and vTime, Border Bots! It’s a blend of Papers, Please and humorous science fiction in the tradition of classic 2000AD strips like Sam Slade. Expect a release date some time in 2024.
Also on Substack
And just to say that my Star Trek: The Next Generation Substack, WAMTNG, is in its second year and about to reach The Best of Both Worlds. If you know what that means, you should subscribe!
Or if 3-minute reflections on our principles for living is more your speed, my philosophy Substack, Stranger Worlds (and How To Live in Them) has now reached 100 subscribers! There’s some wildly eclectic essays here - some you’ll nod along with, some you’ll vehemently disagree with, but every one of them is an intriguing read.
Meanwhile, International Hobo has been beavering away at client projects, although there’s not much I can talk about… yet. Expect some new announcements in the Gregorian New Year, though.
Happy Halloween to y’all!
Chris and the ihobo games crew.
